Support CARAS Research at 21! (founded in 2005 … to today)

CARAS Research is an all-volunteer organization focused on positive transformation of the Kink, Leather, BDSM, and consensual non-monogamy (CNM) research landscape. As we begin our 21st year, we need your support more than ever.

To help support our 2026 program, in our 21st year, we ask you to consider a donation of $21 (and joining or continuing to be a subscriber to CARAS Research).

Here are some things we do, aren’t they worth $21?

• CARAS Institutional Review Board (IRB). CARAS has the only Kink/Leather/BDSM community-linked IRB in the world! IRB approval is required for most academic research today.

• CARAS Research Support Program, which includes Community Advisory Board review and endorsement of research projects, and the CARAS Research Fellows Program, which provides non-academic community experts training and support to conduct human subjects research!

• CARAS Mentoring Program matches students,early-career professionals, and community members doing scholarly projects, in alternative-sexualities related career paths with more advanced scholars and professionals.

• CARAS Reading Group meets monthly to discuss readings ranging from classical texts in sexological theory and literature addressing kink/BDSM, to modern topics including clinical approaches and kink/leather communities today.

• CARAS Education Program provides virtual and in-person educational events, and organizes educational conferences.

Your support will enable CARAS Research to continue and expand this important work.
